The Disco Boat is a captained vessel — guests don't drive. The rental fee doesn't include a captain; you add one when you book. Our captains know San Diego Bay, handle the route around wind and tide, manage docking, and stay out of the dance floor so your group can stay in it.
How it works. Pick your charter date and length when you reserve. Add a Disco Boat captain at $50/hour for the duration of the charter — included in your booking, no separate transaction.
Why a captain is required. San Diego Bay is a working harbor — Coast Guard cutters, ferry crossings, commercial traffic. The Disco Boat is a 32-foot pontoon with a tall rooftop deck and a passenger-load that moves around. A captain who knows the bay keeps the boat going where it needs to go and the docking clean.
What's included with the captain. Boat operation, route planning, docking, safety briefing at the dock, on-water support the entire cruise. They'll cue the route to find the best sunset angle, dodge the wakes that would mess up your bar setup, and stay out of the photos.
